SOWITEC is a company focused on the development of wind, photovoltaic and transmission line projects. With our multidisciplinary team that stands out with high quality projects, we achieve high performance power generation facilities with a low environmental impact.
Founded in 1993 Germany, SOWITEC is operating in the Uruguayan market since 2006. Based in Montevideo, SOWITEC is a pioneer in the development of wind projects in Uruguay, and has later expanded its scope to photovolatic power plants.
As of today, two windfarms developed by SOWITEC Uruguay with a cumulative capacity of 95 MW have started operation in 2013 and 2017, respectively. With a pipeline of around 500 MW wind and solar projects SOWITEC is now one of the major players in the Uruguayan energy market and is well positioned for upcoming tenders.

Team
The team of SOWITEC Uruguay is specifically and exclusively dedicated to the development and implementation of renewable energy projects. Currently we count with 4 highly qualified and specialized members with a cumulative experience of over 40 years in this sector, who are fully dedicated to develop renewable energy projects in accordance with the highest technical, social and environmental standards. Since initiation of activities in the country back in 2006 SOWITEC Uruguay contributes in the transformation towards a more robust and reliable electricity sector in Uruguay. Together we share SOWITEC's vision of providing sustainable, reliable and affordable electricity to all; aiming to accompany the energy transition towards 2030 and 2050, in compliance with the Millennium Goals and the compromises that the country assumed thru the Paris Agreement.
